Steps in Securing the new SSS ID / UMID in a hassle free way
What you need:
- black ballpen
- photocopy of 2 valid IDs stated at the back of the UMID form or a photocopy of your passport will do
- 2 original valid IDs
1. Print your own UMID form. It is available online. Fill in the details. Write legibly and with no error. Your address should be correct. Read the instructions and notes at the back of the UMID form.
2. Go to the old Robinsons in Cebu City by 9:30 AM. The security guard (stationed at the basement floor facing the skywalk between old Robinsons and ukay2x hahaha) will release numbers by 9:45 AM. Attitude?
3. The mall will open by 10 AM. Go to the SSS station/cubicle/area. It is located at the third floor. Wait for your priority number to be called.
4. Present your 2 valid IDs and pass the photocopies of each IDs as well as your UMID form. It will be screened. And once done, it will be marked by the personnel as screened and okay for data capture.
5. Next is data capture. Just go immediately to SSS Cebu City Branch. You no longer need to get stuck on a very long line. Ask where "data capture" is to be made if you're overwhelmed by the number of people inside the building. It is near the Comfort Room and it is obvious because you can see people sitting down waiting to get their pictures and thumb prints/biometrics taken.
6. Once you get your picture taken as well as your thumb prints, the personnel will mark your paper as okay with data capture. He/She will tear off the lower part. It will be your claim stub.Don't lose it.
7. You're done! Wait for 3 - 6 months for your SSS ID/ UMID to be mailed to your residence.
You should be finished processing this before 12 noon, hassle free.
